As an Analytics Engineer II, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between data engineering and business analytics. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data models and analytics-ready datasets that empower the organization to make data-driven decisions. Leveraging your expertise in data modelling, transformation, and governance, you will ensure high data quality, consistency, and accessibility for analytics and reporting across GDI. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and cross-functional business stakeholders to support key initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Partner proactively with business stakeholders and business analysts to deeply understand evolving data requirements and independently translate business objectives into robust technical solutions;
Establish and enforce data quality checks, version control standards, and documentation frameworks to ensure long-term trust, consistency, and transparency in critical data assets across the organization;
Lead the development and enhancement of ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data from diverse internal and external sources, managing transitions across technology platforms (e.g., SQL Server to Snowflake) with minimal disruption;
Drive the performance optimization of data models and queries for scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Azure;
Champion self-service analytics by designing and delivering intuitive, well-documented semantic layers and/or curated datasets in Sigma that empower cross-functional teams—including digital marketing, finance, and sales operations—to access and leverage reliable data independently;
Maintain and evolve comprehensive documentation of data models, transformation logic, and enterprise-wide data definitions to foster cross-team knowledge sharing and support a data-literate culture;
Act as a thought leader by continuously monitoring emerging technologies, evaluating new tools, and identifying opportunities to advance data capabilities in alignment with business priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field;
3+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles;
Expertise in SQL and data modelling concepts (schemas, CTEs, macros, etc.);
Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformations and modelling;
Proficiency with Snowflake and Big Query;
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and Sigma;
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT development, data integration, and API data ingestion;
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a strong attention to detail and passion for data quality;
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD processes for data pipeline management;
Experience in retail or E-commerce industries is an asset.
