Job Summary:

The Designer works under the direction of the Divisional Design Manager, and in partnership with the Product Manager, delivers a focused and inspiring assortment each season for the assigned product line.

 

 Key responsibilities: 

  • Translate vision and emerging trends into the assigned product lines based on concept direction
  • Maximize sales and gross profits, minimize shuffles and unplanned markdowns (with Product Manager)
  • Create and coordinate multiple pieces that aim to satisfy our clientele and corresponds to our brand image
  • Work with technical designers, patternmakers, and fit technicians to ensure our clothing corresponds to our specifics.
  • Build a relationship with the Buying team that fosters development of innovative, relevant and fashion-forward designs.
  • Build a relationship with the Production team that takes into consideration manufacturing limitations, yet pushes our expectations of quality, lead time and price value.
  • Research and develop new fabrics, washes, trims and finishes that are within our cost constraints and elevate the brand
  • Adhere to design calenda
  • Shop international and domestic market for seasonal research

 

Qualifications:

  • DEC or Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design
  • Minimum 7 years experience design experience
  • Detailed oriented, self-motivated
  • Good Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word) skills
  • Strong color sense
  • Excellent knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Sound judgement and a good understanding of trends and the fashion apparel industry
