Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Store Maintenance, the Store Maintenance Technician responsibilities require that they maintain and improve the maintenance of stores throughout Canada and the USA. The Technician will be required to support and assist in the day-to-day activities to ensure efficiency and limit any impacts to the operations while maximizing cost efficiencies and synergies. You will be involved in our ongoing transformation from a traditional brick & mortar retailer, to an omni-channel leader and tech-first fashion disruptor.
Responsibilities:
- Assist store employees in the handling of any maintenance requests and emergencies regarding HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locks, furniture, and sound systems;
- When needed, collaborate with landlords and operation managers on site;
- Process incoming requests promptly and accordingly, and ensure that activities are consistently and concisely documented;
- Coordinate logistics around purchases, prepare and approve purchase orders, reconcile relevant billing, and execute follow-ups;
- Help and assist internal departments with various projects and initiatives in stores;
- Resolve the findings and requirements established by the Health and Safety Committee as needed;
- Analyze each case, work order, and technician feedback assigned to you and help the store coordinators mitigate issues at store level while ensuring reasonable costs;
- Assist external resources for an effective resolution time;
- Help the store staff in troubleshooting issues/requests before deploying the appropriate resources;
- Track and follow up with their work in progress until completion;
- Be available for emergency calls outside regular office hours (in rotation with other team members);
- Other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- A DEC in Building Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical or Building Administration or any other relevant certificate;
- 2+ years of experience in facilities management;
- Good knowledge of purchasing methods and organizational skills;
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Word;
- Strong abilities in coordinating resources and day-to-day activities;
- Good organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently;
- Skills to recognize improvement areas, offer suggestions, and resolve problems;
- The capability of handling multiple priorities.
