Assistant Project Manager, Construction

Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) must work closely with the Project Managers to assist them in accomplishing all daily administrative tasks required in implementing projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparing contract agreements, scopes of work and change orders along with other necessary documentation;
- Assisting with rollouts, closures and other small projects;
- Following up on, collecting, and verifying project close-out documentation;
- Following up on and coordinating construction deficiency completion;
- Assisting, as needed, in bridging communication with contractors, suppliers, city officials, other departments, and internal clients;
- Preparing drawings for bids and sites,
- Obtaining certificates of occupancy;
- Scheduling and facilitating all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity;
- Expediting approval of trade contractor invoices and change order requests;
- Any other required tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Project Management training/related college diploma;
- 1+ years of experience in a project management role in the construction industry with retail experience an asset;
- Fluent in both French and English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Auto CAD an asset;
- Highly organized and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Based in Montréal and have a valid driver’s license;
- Ability to travel in Canada/USA if/when required to support Project Managers;
- Enthusiastic and team oriented with the ability to work independently as well.
