Job Summary:
As the Head Barista, you are a point of contact with customers. You are forming a caring, trusting, and friendly relationship with Groupe Dynamite colleagues while preparing a personalized beverage for them or when they are paying for their meal. You are also the link between the customer and the Chef, so you must ensure that all relevant information is passed on to provide exemplary service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and take orders;
- Prepare speciality coffees according to Atrium standards;
- Clean and fill the coffee station and cash areas;
- Promote new products to increase sales;
- Process transactions at the cash register and be responsible for opening and closing it;
- Replenish the impulse items, beverages in the showcase, and snacks at the counters;
- Be responsible for allergy identification for all meals when needed;
- Stay calm during busy periods and special events to ensure that Atrium standards are respected and to set a good example for the team;
- Control the influx of customers and minimize the wait time during busy periods;
- Perform other tasks when necessary, such as service, catering, delivery, and maintaining a list of prices/competition/suppliers search/etc.;
- Keep the service area clean and respect sanitation standards as per MAPAQ’s and management’s expected health and safety standards;
- Get the pricing list updated and complete orders with suppliers;
- Complete weekly planning while keeping the budget in mind;
- Ensure product rotation and labelling;
- Perform inventory counts and provide inventory needs;
- Fill up catering forms with department identification (requester’s name, event details, food and beverage needs, GL code, dates, total cost, etc.);
- Fill the sales trackers on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a similar role;
- Ability to interact with customers and colleagues in a friendly, enthusiastic, and cheerful manner;
- Experience with handling money, preferably in customer service, and comfortable with numbers;
- Sociable, calm, and professional;
- Leadership skills and the ability to set priorities;
- Team player;
- Ability to build partnerships, prioritize collaboration, and challenge the status quo by contributing impactful ideas and solutions;
- Bilingual (English and French);
- Must be able to work different shifts during opening hours and in the evening to provide service for special corporate events.
