Job Summary:

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Data Analytics to lead a high-impact team of over 10 Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Analytics Engineers supporting company-wide BI reporting and deep insights generation. This role blends strategic leadership and hands-on execution, with a 30:70 ratio of individual contributor to management responsibilities, and requires strong technical acumen and experience managing teams in fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about the retail industry and thrives on in-person collaboration, spending at least four days a week in our vibrant office engaging with their team, stakeholders, and peers. You’ll report directly to the Senior Director of Data, Analytics, and AI, helping shape the future of data-driven decision-making across the company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, instilling modern data principles and engineering excellence while fostering a culture of ownership, experimentation, and continuous improvement;
  • Define and execute a forward-looking analytics roadmap that leverages automation and robust documentation to solve complex problems and scale self-serve analytics across the enterprise;
  • Conduct structured performance evaluations, establish clear KPIs, and create professional development plans to elevate team capabilities and accountability across analytics and data engineering disciplines;
  • Work with the Data Governance Manager and Senior Database Administrator to enforce robust data governance, security, and compliance standards across analytical workflows, ensuring integrity and trust in our data;
  • Partner with stakeholders across IT, digital marketing, planning, allocation, sales operations, finance, and logistics to align on business goals and define meaningful, outcome-driven metrics;
  • Lead your team beyond traditional reporting by driving data-informed decision-making and delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations;
  • Design and optimize scalable data models and pipelines using Python, DBT, and Snowflake;
  • Enable high-performance analytics, query tuning, and the adoption of modern BI platforms like Sigma or equivalent.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field;
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics or science, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity;
  • Advanced expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis;
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Sigma or similar BI tools for data modelling and visualization;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to actively participate in cross-functional meetings and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership;
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making;
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing analytics roadmaps aligned with business objectives;
  • Familiarity with JIRA;
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards to ensure data integrity and trustworthiness;
  • Familiarity with retail industry metrics and operations is a plus;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and available to work on-site 4 days a week.
